Accessibility Statement
Proletarian Library aims to make its website usable by as many people as possible.
Last reviewed: 27 August 2026
Our aim
The library aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is an ongoing aim, not a claim of formal certification.
What we have done
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, controls and skip links.
- Visible focus indicators and clear form labels and errors.
- Responsive layouts, text resizing and reduced-motion support.
- Light and dark themes plus body-text font, alignment and BionicReading preferences.
- Semantic headings and screen-reader-friendly labels.
Known limitations
The archive is still developing. Older or newly added pages may contain inconsistent structure, incomplete alternative text or untranslated interface text. External material and websites are outside our control. We review and correct problems as they are found.
Testing
Pages are tested with keyboard navigation, browser accessibility tools, zoom and the Orca screen reader with Firefox. Automated tests are useful but do not replace testing by disabled people.
Report a problem
If something prevents you from using the site, tell us which page and what happened. We will try to provide the information in an accessible form and correct the problem.
