Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use the Proletarian Library website or create an account.

About the library
Proletarian Library is a free, independently maintained digital archive intended to improve access to socialist, Marxist and working-class texts and related historical information.
Using the archive
You may browse, search and link to publicly available pages. You are responsible for checking whether your intended reuse of a text, translation, image or edition is permitted by the copyright laws that apply to you.
The library does not claim ownership of historical works merely because they are catalogued or displayed here. Copyright and other rights may belong to authors, translators, editors, publishers or other rights holders.
Archive accuracy
Many texts are transcribed, adapted or checked against copies made available by other online archives, including but not limited to the Marxists Internet Archive and its mirrors, WikiRouge and ProleWiki. Where possible, the relevant print edition, periodical or collection is also recorded. These sources do not endorse, operate or necessarily have any affiliation with Proletarian Library.
Reasonable efforts are made to present texts and catalogue information accurately, but historical records can be incomplete or disputed and errors may remain. The archive is for general information and research, not professional advice or a guaranteed authoritative edition.
Accounts
You must provide accurate account information, keep your password secure and tell the library if you believe your account has been compromised.
Lists, stars, highlights, notes and preferences are provided for personal use. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; lists and highlights can be exported using the account tools.
Acceptable use
Access may be restricted or an account suspended where reasonably necessary to protect users, the archive or its infrastructure.
- Do not access another person’s account or private information.
- Do not circumvent security or access controls.
- Do not introduce malware or deliberately disrupt the website.
- Do not make automated requests at a rate that damages the service.
- Do not use the service for unlawful activity.
Availability and changes
This free service may be unavailable for maintenance, security work or circumstances outside the library’s control. Features and archive material may be corrected, moved, replaced or withdrawn. Continuous or error-free availability is not guaranteed.
Responsibility
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, the library is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss resulting from use of this free service or reliance on archive material.
External links are provided for reference. The library does not control their content, availability or privacy practices.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information, essential cookies and local preferences are handled.
