Separate-path theory

A view associated with Russian Narodniks that Russia could follow a distinct path to socialism, avoiding or abbreviating capitalist development by building upon the peasant commune. It treated the peasantry as the principal revolutionary social force. Elements of this outlook were inherited by People's Will and, later, the Socialist-Revolutionaries.
