What is the Proletarian Library?
The Proletarian Library is a digital archive of Marxist, socialist, communist and working-class writings. It brings together texts, authors, collections, periodicals, organisations and historical catalogue information.
Is the archive free to use?
Yes. The public archive can be browsed, searched and read without payment or an account.
Do I need an account?
An account is optional. Accounts provide tools for starring works and chapters, creating lists, and saving selected passages with notes.
How are texts and translations organised?
Each language edition belongs to its relevant language archive. Work records can also connect a text to its authors, publication history, collections and associated organisations.
How do I report an error or suggest a correction?
Please contact the library and include the page address, the correction, and a source where possible.
Is the Proletarian Library accessible?
The project aims to make the library as accessible as possible to all users. Accessibility is considered in its keyboard navigation, screen-reader structure, colour contrast, text preferences, reduced-motion support and layouts for different screen sizes.
